Respect & Protect the World
Our planet is in crisis.
We believe the answer to delivering meaningful change will come through educating the next generation.
By taking students to see the environmental threats at source and showing them the solutions already in action, we open their eyes to the potential to conserve, protect and respect our planet’s rich cultural and biodiversity.
Responsible travel goes deeper than reducing a trip’s carbon footprint.
There’s a lot to do.
This is one journey we are fully committed to.
Our Purpose:
To enrich both the people who travel with us and the places we visit so that generations to come can enjoy the world in all its radiance.
Inspiring Good Citizens
Our school trips are designed to educate students about the threat of climate change and the need for sustainable growth in the communities we visit to ensure they understand their role in their future.
A progressive country like Iceland helps us bring this concept to life as students can learn from pioneers in sustainability.
Experiences like visiting Hellisheidi, the power plant that harnesses geothermal energy, or exploring the Fridheimar Greenhouses where tomatoes are grown year-round using environmentally friendly technology, mean students gain first-hand knowledge about global issues and solutions.
Our immersive language trips bring students closer to the communities they interact with.
Students will gain a deeper understanding of the language they’re learning about through real-life activities where they engage with locals and off-the-beaten-track destinations where English isn’t the main spoken language.
Because respect is born from understanding.
The world’s great. Pass it on
We believe that all students should benefit from educational travel, whatever their background.
That’s why a percentage of revenue from every holiday booked through our sister brand, Discover the World, goes into our Education Bursary Fund*. Run in partnership with the Geographical Association, it means that 30 students who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity can join one of our school trips abroad.
Opening doors to disadvantaged students through experiences that will benefit them for a lifetime.
We think the world’s great, so pass it on!
DTWE Woodland
Closer to home, we help schools take a step forward in reducing their carbon footprint by offsetting the emissions from their trips through our partnership with Greener Growth.
Greener Growth works with schools to plant new woodlands and rewild school land, funded by donations from us and the schools we work with.
Like us, Greener Growth see the benefits of outdoor learning and help schools enhance their green areas, create wild spaces and build awareness for the outdoor classroom.
Our partnership has a simple aim; to inspire, educate and empower the next generation to build a sustainable future.
We also work with Greener Growth to offset our corporate emissions by planting a minimum of 1,000 trees.

Conscious Travel
Our modern foreign language trips go beyond the traditional tourist trail destinations.
Passionate about lifting the lid on local culture, our immersive language trips are primarily focused on smaller towns outside of the bigger and more known cities.
Taking a less-trodden path doesn’t stop there, on our Geography excursions, we encourage travel to lesser-visited regions of Iceland.
By doing this, students have a more authentic glimpse into the cultures they are learning about which deepens their understanding and appreciation.
Because we incorporate lesser-known destinations and activities into our itineraries, we’re able to support local communities and small businesses.
Geography trip to Iceland
Iceland are the world-leaders in sustainability. Learn about harnessing geothermal energy, the effect climate change is having on the country's glaciers and tectonic activity.
Costa Rica Volcanoes & Rainforests Trip
Playing host to 5% of the world’s biodiversity, this small lush green country offers its visitors new surprises around every corner. The perfect ecotourism destination.
Language trip to Sète
Thanks to Sète’s smaller size, students can chat to charming locals in French about their hometown and explore an off-the-beaten-track destination away from bigger tourist towns.
Start as we mean to go on
Having operated the very first whale-watching trips in Iceland in 1993, our founder Clive couldn’t take the issue of whaling lightly.
In our campaign to end whaling in Iceland we support the Iceland Nature Conservation Association (INCA). Established in 1997, INCA is a conservation NGO with the primary objective of conserving and protecting the wilderness of Iceland.
Today, our itineraries allow students visiting The Azores and Iceland once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to learn about sea life from expert marine biologists and maybe spot a whale or two!
