Geographical Association Partnership
We partnered with Geographical Association to make the benefits of responsible, international travel more accessible to geography students inside and outside the classroom.
Since 2016, we have partnered with the Geographical Association to find new ways to support the geography community.
So far, we have:
- Built a community of geographers through the Geography Teacher Zone Facebook group
- Created award winning teaching resources
- Supported teachers by enhancing their knowledge through a FREE CPD service
- Offered discounted or free bursary school trip places to over 20 students, who otherwise would not have the opportunity to travel
- Explored ways to prioritise responsible school travel
Through this partnership we:
- Educate the geography community on responsible travel and support students becoming responsible travellers
- Offer opportunities to experience the benefits of international travel to students
- Help geography students and teachers make the most of their international travel experiences, through high-quality preparation, itineraries, resources and support
- Strive to limit the impact of Discover the World and the GA’s activities on the environment, by continuously reviewing and updating operational processes

We work together to support schools through inspiring responsible travel and geography teaching resources.
About Matt Podbury, GeographyPods Founder
Matt has been the Head of Geography at the International School of Toulouse for the last fourteen years.
Matt leads workshops and online CPD in the teaching of geography to a wide range of colleagues and students around the world.
Matt’s department was the proud recipient of the Geographical Association ‘Centre of Excellence’ award and ‘Secondary Geography Quality Mark’ for the third time in 2021.

About Richard Allaway, founder of Geographyalltheway
Richard teaches International Baccalaureate Diploma Geography at the International School of Geneva – Campus des Nations where he is also the ICT Campus Partner. Richard leads professional development workshops on teaching IB DP Geography and on the integration of digital technologies into teaching and learning.
He lives in France, teaches in Switzerland and comes from Yorkshire!
