International Schools
Every year we take hundreds of schools from all over the world to our specialist destinations, creating once in a lifetime experiences for students and teachers alike.
International schools are such an important part of our school community. We often find our international colleagues lead the way in requesting unique and exciting itineraries. No matter where you are in the world you will receive the same level of service from our team of Travel Specialists.
International Geography Network (IGN)
Connect. Collaborate. Inspire.
Geography is about understanding an interconnected world. We believe the people who teach it should be connected too.
The International Geography Network (IGN) brings together geography teachers and educators working in international schools around the world. It’s a place to share ideas, discover new approaches, develop your practice, and connect with people who understand the opportunities and challenges of teaching geography in an international setting.
Whether you’re new to international teaching, leading a geography department, or have years of experience behind you, you’re welcome here. With us.
Join the International Geography Network and become part of a growing global community of geography educators.
Membership of the IGN is free and open to geography educators working in English-medium international schools.
A network built for international geography teachers.
The International Geography Network is a collaboration between the Geographical Association, Discover the World Education, GeographyPods and Geographyalltheway. Each partner brings professional expertise, classroom experiences and a shared passion for high-quality geography education.
The Geographical Association (GA), the leading subject association for geography, champions geography education through professional development, curriculum support, resources and a thriving community of educators.
Discover the World Education supports teachers through geography curriculum-linked educational travel, award-winning free resources and accredited CPD. As a strategic partner of the GA, Discover the World Education shares its commitment to high-quality geography education and helping schools maximise learning beyond the classroom.
GeographyPods and Geographyalltheway bring extensive international teaching experience, practical ideas and classroom-ready resources used by geography educators around the world.
Together, we’re building a community that helps international geography teachers connect, collaborate and deliver exceptional geography education.
Our ambition is simple: to help international geography teachers connect, collaborate and learn from one another, wherever in the world they teach.
As part of the network, you’ll have opportunities to
- Connect and exchange ideas with geography teachers around the world
- Access teaching resources and support from the Geographical Association and Discover the World Education
- Take part in free professional development and online TeachMeet-style events
- Meet fellow educators through regional, face-to-face events
- Share resources, ideas and best practice tailored to the international community
- Collaborate on the opportunities and challenges facing international geography departments
- Become more connected with the wider geography education community, including opportunities around the GA Annual Conference
Great geography deserves to be recognised.
Through the IGN, we’ll also help international schools discover the Geographical Association’s Geography Quality Mark. A prestigious award recognising quality and progress in geography leadership, curriculum development, teaching and learning.
The Quality Mark gives geography departments an opportunity to reflect on their practice, develop their curriculum and celebrate what they do well. For international schools committed to educational excellence, it can also provide meaningful external recognition of the strength of geography within their school.
It’s more than achieving a mark. It’s an opportunity to bring departments together, support professional development and keep moving geography education forward.
Wherever you teach, you’re part of something bigger.

Advice for International Schools
Flights
As a member of IATA (International Air Transportation Association), we are able to ticket flights with 85% of the world’s airlines.
This can often work out to be better value for your group, though we appreciate that some schools prefer to arrange flights themselves.
One of our expert Travel Specialists will work with you to decide whether it would be preferable for us to book your flights or for you to organise these yourself.
Insurance
We are unable to provide travel insurance for groups whose initial departure country is outside the UK, as our travel insurance only covers repatriation to the UK and not your country of residence or departure. It is your responsibility to ensure that you book appropriate travel insurance which covers repatriation to your country of residence or departure.
We recommend that you take out insurance as soon as you have paid your deposits as your policy will provide a level of cover to your group in the event of cancellation prior to departure. Please refer to your policy details for full terms and conditions of what is covered.
